Sometimes it's advantageous to bring in people who know your business. They understand your industry. Sometimes, though, it's better to bring in an outsider. They might see things or contribute in more significant ways.

The future of governance, risk management and compliance could be disrupted significantly by the use of AI. It's here now, but do we truly appreciate the levels of disruption and the potential unintended consequences?

For those that follow my blog, you will know that I promised to step outside of 'Overton's Window'. This is one such time. To challenge my thinking, to push myself and my understanding further, to realise that discomfort is a means by which we can move towards better.

Having read many monstrosities called 'Compliance Manuals', I am absolutely convinced that they often add little value to organisations, and often lead to a poorer outcome of compliance than in those organisations that have give this issue much more thought.
