The consistent and emergent interplay

Organisational culture is the interplay of our humanness with our environment - it's a biopsychosocial phenomenon

Culture within our organisations is emergent and in constant flux and the perceptions of what a culture is manifesting - its characteristics - is always individual.

This is why it can’t be approached from a binary thinking and needs a approach from a systems thinking methodology. There are an infinite number of factors that can impact the nature of the culture that exists within a group of humans at any one time.

Even our own journey of research has been a tough journey because of the complexity of these aspects. We were not interested in the elements of culture themselves, but on how they interact and relate to each other - the relationships between and among. Sometimes we come across massive barriers to overcome and sometimes the dam breaks and we see new and powerful understandings we've never seen before.

We will never understand organisational culture fully, but we can work exceptionally hard to move in that direction.

Thank you for being with us on this journey.
