SENTIENT LEADERSHIP

As leaders we are responsible for the well-being of our staff and our peers. With all the pressures that surround us, it's easy to miss this.
The importance of being sentient, the ability to be able to perceive or feel things, is a key attribute of any leader.
So often as managers, team leaders and board members we can lose connection with our employees. We are so focused on the ‘business’, its profits, EBITDA and whether we are meeting strategy, we forget the most important element, the people and our connection with them.
Inspirational and successful leaders never fail to recognise the important of sentience, being open to and accepting of how others may be feeling, embracing their own feelings and being humble enough to share.
